Mavel Ortiz Reyes is a self-motivated designer and BFA graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology. She thrives on creative challenges and building meaningful collaborative relationships along the way; Many of her projects are inspired by art and personal experiences, which showcases a pathway into finding her identity and inspiring others.

The Representational Entity Collection encompasses a diverse abstract design focus incorporating culture, self-reflection, and identity.

Inspiration is derived from the artist Enrique Ortiz, whose work encapsulates such concepts.

Throughout these designs, the raw elements utilized in his art compositions, consisting of organic properties, and substances are emulated in the texture, color, and silhouettes.

In addition, the integration of rigid texture, complexity, dimension, and movement. They are examined and featured as fundamental details leading this collection into a journey of self-discovery of authenticity and confidence. The themes of nature and culture are the core aspects of this collection.

Concentration within diversity and inclusion became an additional component through awareness of body positivity and self-acceptance.

PRogress Work

The Contemporary Decomposition Collection encompasses a dynamic design focus where modern originality is expressed.

Inspiration is derived from the artist Adrian Genie who exposes untraditional abstract design details, along with complementary naturalistic aesthetics, emulating color and texture throughout his design concept.

In addition, seam shaping, structural linear perspective, and deconstruction design elements are strategically implemented and integrated within each silhouette, color palette, and textile.
